I’m using the WordPress 2017 theme for my blog. That’s because I couldn’t figure out how to set up any other theme myself.
Some people laugh when I say this. I didn’t want to get someone to set up a fancy theme for me and then be stuck fumbling around when I need to add content. I can’t let that stop me from putting myself out there, so I hope you like my site. It’s me just being me.
The photo in the header was taken on a New Zealand holiday in South Island. This is my version of ‘happy to be alive’ in the middle of all that gorgeous NZ scenery.
To jazz it up a bit, I used Be Funky an online photo editor. I was able to create a look that speaks to me with minimal know how. Stress on minimal. One click actually.
The effect I used which is called ‘Vintage’ gives the whole picture a positive, optimistic feel – my version of rose coloured glasses, if you will.
I recommend Be Funky to anyone, especially if like me, you’re a technical ignoramus. I actually had fun doing it too instead of pulling my hair out; usually standard practice with technical computer stuff. I used the free account option. There’s a paid option with more effects which I really don’t need right now as I’d probably find it too overwhelming.
In case you’re wondering, I’m not an affiliate for Be Funky; I just used it and wanted to tell you how it helped me get a look for my blog. Besides, I thought you might like to use it too.
In time, I would like to upgrade my theme, maybe even have a logo but it’ll take a while to figure out. In the meantime, here I am online with my own unique presence…being myself. I don’t do impressions 🙂
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
Pretty cool philosopher who really resonates with our time don’t you think?
I’m going to leave you with a great track I discovered on You Tube or did You Tube recommend it to me because it knows I love Prince??
Hmm…let’s not worry about the Orwellian nature of Google and its subsidiaries right now.
This chicky babe Janelle Monáe had the pleasure of working with Prince before he (who will always be cherished) left us forever. She is fantastically funky (just like my blog) and this video reminds me so much of the Eighties, I could cry…for shoulder pads, guys with makeup, lost youth etc.
