Becoming An Internet Profits Certified Partner – My Review

January 2018 – my return to the world of online business.

Naturally, my first stop is Dean Holland’s IPro partner program.
I signed up to it back in 2014 and that’s how I made my first dollars online – what a rush that was!

Upon returning, I discover Dean’s program has gone from strength to strength. The membership has grown, coaches are on hand to help students as part of Dean’s team and, in short, it has had a dramatic transformation.

For starters, it has a new name: the Internet Profits Certified Partners Program. With the recent makeover, it also has a brand spanking new website accessible to partners only. Sorry! I’d give you a peek, otherwise.

With this program, the great thing is that once a partner, you’re a partner for life. If, like me, you take a misstep, get discouraged or sidetracked, you can always return to the program when you’re willing and able to give it another go.

The revamped program can best be described  in the words of Blaise Pascal:

Naturally, Dean Holland is the mind, heart and soul behind this site – every page starts with a video by Dean explaining his approach to the subject he loves ie. internet marketing with his trademark style full of energy and enthusiasm.

The new website is a calm, clear space for him to express his passion for this business through bite sized chunks of video, easy to absorb and flowing seamlessly from one module to the next.

The introduction to the new website makes it very clear that everyone who purchases a membership, regardless of how long ago they signed up, has to undergo the training program provided to become a certified partner.

At first, I was like, “This can’t be right – I’ve been a partner since 2014!”. But nope, I could not access the other areas of the site, such as affiliate links, traffic training etc., until I had undergone the certified partner course.

This seemed a bit like one step forward, two steps back. After all, didn’t I already know what could only be the basics of IM in this training?

Be that as it may, I quickly realised that if I still wanted to be a part of this business, I would have to swallow my pride and do the modules, yep, all eight of them, like it or not.

It was my very own Karate Kid experience…thaaanks, Dean!

Sooo…I suspended disbelief and surrendered to the inevitable. As Mr Miyagi said to Daniel: “…teacher say, student do.”

The course is laid out in the following eight modules:

The Sales Process
The Success Metric
Creating Your Number
The Six Figure Roadmap
Understanding Traffic
Strategy
Licensing
Graduation

Each of these modules are broken down into several topics that form an overview to an in-depth understanding of the various moving parts of a digital business.

I started off thinking, “Yeah, this’ll be basic – I’ll cruise through this easy.”
However as I went through each topic I found there was a great deal to the sales process, for example, that I had never fully absorbed until now.

There is something about the well formatted layout of the course that is deceptively simple yet really allows you to gain a greater understanding of the internet marketplace and how it operates.

At the end of each module is a test. This enabled me to see if I’d grasped the main concepts outlined in that lesson.

I found I was looking at the world of making money online with fresh eyes – and it felt so clear and comfortable!

No anxiety about the mumbo jumbo of list building, SEO, Google etc.  Instead there is a feeling of being in control and in the driver’s seat for a change.

I always felt like I would have to become ‘a sales person’ or ‘IT geek’ and that I just lacked the skills to do either of these – it just doesn’t come  easily or naturally to me.

By going through the Internet Profits Certified Partner training, I could see I won’t have to do that at all. I simply have to share information that has helped me, and which others find enriching for themselves.

It has been quite the education and I’m glad I rediscovered my business partnership with Dean Holland.

The best part of this achievement is having a  plan of action to proceed with a clearly defined goal in mind. It is similar to the business plan in an offline business model such as a retail store. By setting out your road map to achieving your goal, you are forced to come up with a series of actions that take you in that direction.

Does this mean there won’t be roadblocks along the way? Of course there will! That’s the adventure we call life’s journey.

The trick is to find a support network which suits you as you develop your business.  For me, I’ve chosen Dean’s program. It lays out a step by step strategy to get to earning your first dollar online, progressing to your first $1,000 then your first $10,000 and eventually your first $100,000 or 6 figures online.  This is a program for those who want to start their own internet business with the focus and hard work it requires. No overnight jackpot here – if there ever was one.

What I like about it, is that Dean’s blueprint can be adapted to suit your individual strengths. For example, Dean explains how there are numerous ways to get traffic to your website or links and you can choose the way that suits you best.

The main thing is not to make it all too complex when starting off.

I will take it step by step and respect the journey.

I already tried the Shiny Object Syndrome method, which just resulted in massive credit card debt, so now I’m all for a business plan. Gotta learn from your mistakes sometime!

So what’s my goal?

Initially, I wish to earn $3,000 a month ongoing, which is the minimum required to quit my day job.  I’ve set myself a year to achieve this. Dean explains that this amount coming in as recurring income would mean you could concentrate on growing your business full time for ultimate financial independence.

If you’d like to see if I can reach my goal, then please subscribe to my blog.  I’ll keep you updated with my progress over the coming months.  I’d love your company along the way so thank you for stopping by!

My First Dollar Online. Click.

Ku De Ta Dreaming
Ku De Ta Dreaming

Okay, so, I know you’ve all been dying to know if I made any money…

When I first checked my iPro account during my solo ad run, I was crushed to see a big fat ‘0’ sales. Noooo. I went to bed depressed.

But then I woke up the next day to discover – Yay!! I’ve finally made my first dollar online – actually my first $109.71! It’s amazing to look at ‘commissions generated’ in my account and see I’ve actually Earned Money Online (EMO)!

To all of my lovely friends who encouraged me when I was anxiously placing my first solo ad last week, thank you for your warm wishes and support! Its been quite the nail biter for yours truly who has a knack for running up that credit card bill…

I’ve now been educated in the solo ads world. For instance, what the heck is an optin?  Apparently, its short for ‘opting in’ which means someone has given you permission to send them email.

Now, I get a tonne of daily emails for which I evidently ‘opted in’ (this could be related to my credit card debt, hmm…), but I didn’t realise how the effectiveness of an ad run can be measured from the number of optins. In this ad run, I got 29 optins which means 29 people have given their email address so follow up emails can be sent to them. This may result in potential sales down the track.

As for a ‘click’, this would mean a subscriber actually clicked on the ad to go through to the sales page. I found this an amusing term until I realised that I had to buy my ad run for a specified number of clicks…then it lost its charm altogether.

Being cautious, I only ordered 100 clicks for my first run from Beatrice Brown. The ad cost $65 for 100 clicks. Beatrice was fabulous because she gave me an extra 32 clicks. For all I know, it was one of those extra clicks that made me my first $109.71 – all from just one customer buying 3 products! This leaves me with a profit of $44.71.

Won’t be back sipping cocktails at Ku De Ta anytime soon, but I’m making more than I’m spending for the first time in my online journey!

That’s a giant leap for me in the Right Direction…a big Thumbs Up to Dean Holland for breaking this quest down into bite sized chunks I can handle…

Thank you, Dean! Something has finally ‘clicked’ for me at last and there’s no stopping me now…!

Solo Ad Newbie

First$
Any resemblance to real life characters purely coincidental!

This weekend, *drum roll please* I’ve decided to go ahead with my very first Solo Ad! As a member of the coaching program run by Dean Holland, we get a Solo Ad Directory listing a variety of vendors. Naturally, I spent quite a while browsing through them.

I read their sales pages carefully, and finally selected one that seemed to have the caring approach I was after. I emailed her to see if she was familiar with Dean Holland’s program. Imagine my surprise to find she’s from Melbourne, too – this is meant to be! Yes, her list specialises in internet marketing and she will run my ad next week with stats on the results.

Being new to the process, I have ordered a small initial run. While one can’t expect instant success, I do feel the vendor I have chosen inspires confidence. Her name is Beatrice Brown – feel free to check out her sales page. Just make sure you email Beatrice first to discuss your requirements, so she can advise as to the suitability of your offer for her list. I found her very helpful and pleasant on email.

Of course, after the adrenalin rush of placing my first order, I needed to expend some nervous energy. As luck would have it, I had a girls night out arranged and someone else was driving! So several cocktails and a small hangover later, I am cautiously optimistic…

I wish each and everyone of you success with any sales campaign you may have. Remember to come back for the results of my first ad at the end of next week. Better yet, subscribe to my blog (see the fetching purple button on the top right) and get all the nail biting action direct to your Inbox!

Fingers crossed for the first $….!

Video Torture

To all the wonderful members of the Quickstart Challenge Community who visited my very first post, a heartfelt thank you. These two little words are simply inadequate to express just how much your comments have meant to me. You have encouraged and supported me with such generosity that I finally believe I will be able to create an online business.

I’m afraid I have only managed to visit some of your blogs so far, as I am suffering beginner overload! But I promise to be over your way soon.

In the meantime, I have been on a mission today to catch up with Week 2 of the Quickstart Challenge – the Tough with a capital T; yes, that’s right, the knee trembling, heart stopping Video Post!!!

It’s been a Sunday of laughter and tears trying to record a tiny, itsy, bitsy, 1 Minute and 17 Seconds of video promoting my QSC experience. It took me about two hours of fussing with light, poor sound and my mind going blank every time the Record button was pressed. By the time it was over, I was overcharged with adrenalin and had to go for a long walk by the beach just to get it out of my system.

Watching my cringeworthy performance now, with a voice that sounds like I’m lost inside a tin can and a body posture similar to a robot, I think I’d better stick to writing!

Now, my QSC friends, I know you’ve been through the same video torture trial, so we are bonded by our group struggle together.

I await your comments and don’t worry, I want the truth…really, I mean it…well, okay you can lie just a little bit…

Late Bloomer

Hi QuickStart Community,

This is my very first post to the world…amazing!

I’ve just started the Quickstart Challenge 2.0 with Dean Holland, Craig Crawford and JF Garsula this week. Yes, I know, it started April 7th and now its already the 23rd of April…so what have I been doing???

I’m worried…about telling you my story and looking a bit silly; or maybe very silly…depends how you look at these things. So here goes:

At age 48, let’s just say I haven’t exactly made all the right moves…Divorced after fifteen years, with no home to call my own, I seriously need to get some cash.

In 2012, I started researching how to make a living on the internet. I guess I was a little desperate to find the magic solution to internet riches, so much so I’m now twenty thousand in debt on my Mastercard – not quite sure how it happened. I told myself I have to ‘spend money to make money’, and in a little over two years the debts have started to pile up, but I’m yet to make a single dollar in cyberspace. Pretty sad huh?

Somewhere along the way, I forgot you can’t just buy IM courses and software, you’ve actually got to take action! Otherwise, as Dean says in the first video, you won’t make any money.

It makes complete sense when you think about it, but I’ve found this so very hard to do, I don’t know why. Even now I’ve struggled to start this blog and write this post. I always begin with a great idea, but can’t seem to get past the ‘research’ stage.

I really love Dean’s approach in the Quickstart Challenge and its a fantastic opportunity to stop asking why and start creating an online business.

My goal is to make that first dollar on the internet – how sweet that will be?! How will it happen? When will it happen? I don’t know yet. In fact, I haven’t a clue…its time to stop asking why and when and just…do…it…yeah!

I’ve had a look at some of the blogs everyone has set up and I find it really scary…you’re all so good at this stuff already! So if you have any words of wisdom for this late bloomer, I could really use your advice.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read my story. Any tips you have to offer will be very welcome!
